The Night
History Launched.
On April 1, 2026, NASA launched the Space Launch System carrying four astronauts aboard Orion "Integrity" — the first humans to leave low Earth orbit since the final Apollo mission 54 years ago. Destination: the Moon.
The Artemis II mission is a 10-day voyage that takes the crew around the far side of the Moon and back. No landing — but closer to the lunar surface than any human since Apollo 17. It is the proving ground for Artemis III, which will land.
NASA named this programme Artemis — goddess of the Moon, twin of Apollo. When the rocket left the pad at Kennedy Space Center, $ARTMS went live on Solana at the same moment. Born under her name. Bound for the same destination.
" We are going back to the Moon — not to visit, but to stay. "— NASA Administrator, Artemis Programme
